Emergency
What we do
We have beds only for ER.
We treat all patients such as patients who come here by the ambulance and the doctor helicopter, and come here on foot or car by themselves.
2)Intensive Care
Patients who need intensive care, such as for respiratory failure, unstable circulation, and the serious illness septicemias, have the treatment in the intensive care unit.
Emergency and Trauma department liaises closely with other departments.
If a patient's condition is stable and a physician thinks it's time for this patient to move to another department, we will change the patient's department.
3) Disaster Medical Care
We have 2 DMATs (Disaster Medicine Associated Team), and 10 certified persons who practice to be dispatched to the disaster area.
Conditions we handle
Almost all cases are blunt traumas such as injuries by traffic accidents or falling.( Stab wounds and gunshot wounds are very rare.)
Since the law requires all persons to wear the seatbelts, the cases of clavicle fractures, fracture of the sternum, damages to intestine, and damages to the mesenterium have increased.
80% of hepatic injuries, splenic injuries, and kidney injuries which are highest in frequency in abdominal injuries can be treated with conservative measures.
2) Burn Injuries
The case that the extent of burn is over 20% is necessary to have operations several times.
3) Toxicosis
There are toxicosis such as psychoactive drugs, hypnotic drugs, analgesic antipyretic drug (aspirin, acetaminophen), organic phosphorus, paraquat (diquat), cyanide compound, and acid.
In the case that a patient took a lethal drug, the patient needs to have a treatment such as blood purification (hemodialysis) in the intensive-care unit.
4) Others
Near-drownings, heat disorders ( heat strokes, heat exhaustions, heat cramps, heat syncopes), accidental hypothermias( Severe: under 28℃, Moderate: 28~32℃, Mild: 32℃), sting & bite wounds( anaphylactic shock by bite from a pit viper & sting by bee), death by hanging, and asphyxias, etc…
5) Medical Emergency
Severe sepsis (sepsis shocks), severe acute pancreatitis, deep-vein thrombosis, and aspiration pneumonitis, etc…
6) Serious Infection
Tetanus, Cellulitis, Group A streptococcal necrotizing fasciitis, Gas gangrene
