What we do

The Male Infertility Clinic at the Kameda General Hospital Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) Center provides specialized medical evaluations, advanced diagnostics, and treatment programs tailored for male fertility and pre-conception care.

Our clinic is led by board-certified Reproductive Medicine Specialists from the Department of Urology (recognized by the Japan Society for Reproductive Medicine). We offer comprehensive urological and overall health evaluations to identify underlying causes and create effective treatment pathways.

Specialized Diagnostics & Testing Services
We conduct thorough physical, hormonal, genetic, and seminal evaluations:

In-House Diagnostic Procedures
  • Physical & Ultrasound Examinations: Testicular volume measurement, scrotal ultrasonography (evaluating varicoceles, scrotal masses, or testicular tumors)
  • Laboratory & Endocrine Testing: Comprehensive hormonal profiling, serum zinc level measurement, CBC, and blood chemistry panels
  • Advanced Semen & Genetic Testing: Standard semen analysis, Sperm DNA Fragmentation Index (DFI), and cytogenetic/genetic evaluations (G-band Chromosome Analysis, Y-Chromosome Microdeletion testing, with dedicated genetic counseling)

Specialized Advanced Testing (Affiliated Facility - Kameda IVF Clinic Makuhari)
Oxidative Reduction Potential Measurement (MiOXSYS®): Evaluates seminal oxidative stress levels (Self-pay / Out-of-pocket screening).

Semen Collection Facilities:
  • For semen analysis, collection containers can be picked up in advance for home collection and prompt drop-off
  • A dedicated, private Semen Collection Room (Masterbation Room) is also fully equipped inside the Kameda ART Center

Outpatient Therapies & Surgical Interventions
We offer personalized medical, lifestyle, and surgical solutions tailored to each patient's specific diagnosis:
  • Medical & Outpatient Management: Lifestyle modification counseling, hormonal therapy, Kampo (Japanese herbal) medicine, medical treatments for Erectile Dysfunction (ED) or Ejaculatory Dysfunction, treatment for underlying medical comorbidities, nutritional/dietary counseling (in collaboration with Endocrinology for obesity management), and preventive sperm cryopreservation (sperm freezing)
  • Surgical Interventions: Advanced surgical treatments including Varicocelectomy and Testicular Sperm Extraction (TESE / Micro-TESE)
Surgical Care Standard: Both surgical procedures are performed under general anesthesia with a standard 3-day/2-night inpatient stay, fully covered by national health insurance.

Conditions we handle

We provide comprehensive care for all aspects of male factor infertility:
  • Spermatogenic Disorders: Idiopathic infertility, varicoceles, endocrine dysfunction, chromosomal abnormalities, testicular tumors, and azoospermia
  • Male Sexual Dysfunction: Erectile Dysfunction (ED) and Ejaculatory Dysfunction (retrograde, delayed, or anejaculation)
  • Obstructive Azoospermia / Tract Disorders: Physical blockages of the male reproductive tract
  • Inflammatory & Deficiency Conditions: Pyospermia (pus/white blood cells in semen) and Zinc Deficiency
  • Systemic Comorbidities: Hypertension, diabetes mellitus, dyslipidemia, hepatic impairment, hyperuricemia, and obesity affecting fertility potential
