Nephrology & Hypertension

What we do

Formally renamed in April 2006 to reflect our expanded focus on hypertensive disorders, the Department of Nephrology & Hypertension operates as an integral component of the Kidney Center (comprising Nephrology & Hypertension, the Dialysis Center, the Dedicated Renal Ward, and Kidney Transplantation).

Accredited by the Japan Society of Nephrology, the Japanese Society for Dialysis Therapy, the Japanese Society of Hypertension, and the Japanese Society for Apheresis, our medical team—including board-certified specialists and instructors—provides seamless, integrated medical and surgical kidney care across South Boso and Chiba Prefecture.

Key Departmental Strengths & Clinical Scope

Integrated Kidney Center Network: Seamless collaboration between inpatient wards, outpatient clinics, the Dialysis Center, surgical transplantation, and regional satellite clinics.

Advanced Subspecialized Diagnostics & Therapies: High-volume expertise in diagnostic Kidney Biopsies, Peritoneal Dialysis (PD), LDL Apheresis, and continuous blood purification techniques.

Multidisciplinary Internal & Surgical Integration: Close co-management with internal medicine subspecialties (e.g., Hematology/Oncology, Rheumatology, Endocrinology) and surgical teams for complex secondary kidney diseases and renal transplantation.

Academic Collaboration & Clinical Research: Active joint research endeavors across hospital departments and partner academic institutions nationwide.
