General Medicine
What we do
Please visit us under the following circumstances:
1. When you are unsure which specialized department you should visit.
2. When you want a dedicated physician to provide holistic, whole-person care for all your health concerns.
Examples for Scenario 1:
Suppose you have had a persistent fever for 3 weeks and want to be evaluated, but you do not know which department to go to because the cause of the fever is unclear—whether it is an infection (such as pneumonia, urinary tract infection, or cholecystitis), a collagen/autoimmune disease (such as rheumatoid arthritis), or a tumor (such as lymphoma). In such cases, please consult our department first. If inpatient care is required, we will arrange admission either to our department or to the most appropriate specialty ward. Furthermore, if an outpatient referral to another specialist is necessary, we will seamlessly introduce you to the correct department; if your condition can be fully diagnosed and treated within our department, we will manage it here directly.
Examples for Scenario 2:
Suppose a patient with multiple chronic conditions currently visits Cardiology for hypertension and atrial fibrillation, Endocrinology for hyperlipidemia, and Pulmonology for emphysema. Depending on the patient's stability, our General Internal Medicine team can consolidate and manage all of these conditions together in a single clinic. This approach minimizes drug duplication and adverse drug interactions while making it easier to prioritize treatments. Naturally, if a condition requires specialized evaluation, we will explain this clearly and refer you to the appropriate specialist. Additionally, you can consult us regarding necessary vaccinations (such as influenza and pneumococcal vaccines) and essential health screenings. All medical care is delivered through shared decision-making tailored to each patient's individual condition, based on sound scientific evidence.
Outpatient Care System
Our General Internal Medicine outpatient clinic is staffed by a rotating team of over 30 physicians, with 6 to 10 doctors consulting in the morning and 3 to 6 doctors in the afternoon. Our physicians and medical staff collaborate closely to provide compassionate medical care that ensures our patients feel safe, reassured, and satisfied.
Important Guidance Regarding Medical Referrals
If you are visiting our department for symptoms that have already been evaluated at another medical institution, please be sure to bring a formal letter of referral (Patient Introduction Document). Direct communication between physicians via a referral letter prevents redundant diagnostic testing, leads to a faster and more accurate diagnosis, and ultimately results in better treatment outcomes. We kindly ask for your cooperation for the sake of your own health and care quality.
Conditions we handle
