Obstetrics

What we do

We provide dedicated medical care for mothers and their babies, spanning from pregnancy through childbirth and postpartum recovery.

As a certified Comprehensive Perinatal Medical Center designated by Chiba Prefecture, we specialize in managing high-risk pregnancies, including preterm labor, pregnancy-induced hypertension, and underlying medical complications.

To ensure the highest standard of safety, our facility is equipped with specialized intensive care units, operated by a collaborative team of expert obstetricians, neonatologists, and midwives:

Maternal-Fetal Intensive Care Unit (MFICU): 6 beds for specialized maternal care.

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU): 9 beds for premature infants or newborns requiring specialized medical treatment.

We offer a thoughtfully designed inpatient environment where you can relax and experience a truly memorable childbirth. If you have any concerns or anxieties about your upcoming delivery, please feel free to consult our supportive team at any time. Our hospital proudly supports the Direct Payment System for the Childbirth and Childcare Lump-Sum Grant. This system allows the government grant to be paid directly to the hospital, significantly reducing your out-of-pocket expenses at discharge. For detailed inquiries regarding fees and the direct payment system, please contact the Medical Affairs Department (Billing Section) at Kameda General Hospital.

Family-Centered Care: Family members are welcome to stay together in this relaxing, home-like environment (subject to meeting specific guidelines).

Community Support: We work closely with local public health nurses and administrative agencies to help prepare a supportive and nurturing environment for your new family.

Prenatal Care & Advanced Screenings

During pregnancy, we focus on both maternal health (monitoring blood pressure, weight, and urinalysis) and fetal development. Utilizing advanced ultrasound technology, we track your baby’s growth by measuring fetal indicators, estimating weight, and assessing amniotic fluid volume and placental positioning. (Detailed fetal growth checks are conducted at least 4 times throughout the pregnancy).

Painless Delivery (Epidural): We offer pain-relief/painless delivery options for mothers who wish to manage childbirth pain. Please feel free to consult our team.

Clinical Genetics & Counseling: Our Clinical Genetics Department provides professional genetic counseling and genetic testing for families with specific genetic concerns or questions.

Returning Home for Childbirth (Satogaeri): We gladly accept patients wishing to return to their hometown for delivery. In principle, we accept all requests. Please feel free to contact us with any inquiries.

Medical Education and Future Care

Our hospital is a certified training institution for OB/GYN specialists. Under the strict supervision of attending specialists, resident physicians actively participate in clinical care, including prenatal checkups. Additionally, midwifery students from the affiliated Kameda College of Health Sciences conduct practical training at our center. Nurturing the next generation of obstetricians and midwives is vital to sustaining high-quality obstetric care in our region. We sincerely appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

Perinatal Medical Center

What is Perinatal Medicine?

The "perinatal period" refers to the crucial time surrounding childbirth, extending from late pregnancy (from 22 weeks of gestation) to the early neonatal period (less than 7 days after birth).

Perinatal medicine focuses on providing comprehensive, specialized medical care for the mother, the fetus (unborn baby), and the newborn (infants under 28 days old) during this critical phase to safeguard the health and well-being of both mother and child.

Our Role as a Perinatal Medical Center

To safely manage maternal, delivery, fetal, and neonatal complications, our multidisciplinary team of obstetricians, pediatricians, pediatric surgeons, and specialized healthcare professionals works in close collaboration. This unified approach allows us to deliver highly advanced specialized treatments and 24/7 emergency medical care.

Perinatal medical centers are officially designated by prefectural governments based on strict institutional standards, categorized into:

Comprehensive Perinatal Medical Centers (Our center holds this top-tier certification)
