Gastroenterological Medicine
What we do
At our department, our primary focus is the surgical management of a broad range of gastroenterological diseases.
At the outpatient clinic, we perform initial evaluations not only for surgical gastrointestinal conditions referred from other medical institutions, but also for patients presenting with hernias and anorectal disorders. Furthermore, we provide routine post-operative follow-up examinations and adjuvant chemotherapy for patients who have undergone cancer surgery.
In close collaboration with emergency medicine physicians at the Emergency & Trauma Center, our team is also responsible for the rapid diagnosis and surgical treatment of acute abdominal conditions.
Conditions we handle
Benign Abdominal & Hepatobiliary Conditions: Cholelithiasis (Gallstones), Appendicitis, and Intestinal Obstruction (Ileus).
Hernias: Inguinal Hernia, Femoral Hernia, and Ventral/Incisional Hernia.
Anorectal Disorders: Internal Hemorrhoids, Anal Fistula, and Rectal Prolapse.
Number of cases
Inpatient admissions: 21,990 patients
