Outpatient Guide for Overseas Private Insurance & GOP

Kameda Medical Center accepts various international private health insurances. We offer direct billing (cashless service) for patients who can provide a valid Guarantee of Payment (GOP) prior to their consultation.

What is a GOP (Guarantee of Payment)?
A GOP is an official document issued by your insurance company or assistance company. It confirms that they will cover the medical expenses for your specific treatment at our hospital.
Without a valid GOP, you will be required to pay the full amount out-of-pocket on the day of your visit.

Process Flow

STEP1

Contact Your Insurance Provider

Before your appointment, please contact your insurance company to verify your coverage for medical services in Japan. Request them to issue a Guarantee of Payment (GOP) addressed to Kameda Medical Center.

STEP2

Submit the GOP to Our Hospital

The GOP must be sent directly from your insurance company to our International Patient Support Center via email or fax at least 3 business days prior to your appointment.

  • Ensure the GOP clearly states the covered dates and specific medical services.
  • If your insurance includes a deductible or co-pay, you will be responsible for paying that amount on the day of your visit.
STEP3

Day of Your Visit

Please proceed to the International Lounge (Clinic 1st Floor) upon arrival. You must bring the following documents:

Insurance Card / Policy Certificate

Original card or policy certificate issued by your provider.

Photo ID / Passport

For identity verification.

Important Notice Regarding Self-Payment

You will be required to pay the medical fees upfront (Self-Pay) under the following circumstances:

  • We do not receive a valid GOP from your insurance company prior to your consultation.
  • Your insurance company does not offer a direct billing arrangement with our hospital.
  • The medical service provided is excluded from your insurance coverage.
  • If you pay upfront, we will provide you with an itemized receipt and a medical certificate (upon request) so you can file a claim directly with your insurance company later.
